Chiropractic care for your baby

Our team use a number of evidence-based, safe and gentle techniques to assess your baby’s function and support their growth and development. In addition to monitoring growth and developmental milestones our chiropractors gently and thoroughly assess for normal muscle tone and joint motion.

Ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, wrists, elbows, shoulders, head shape and normal motion of the cranial bones of the skull and face.

Sometimes normal movement, strength and tone can become restricted in utero, and through labour if there is abnormal positioning, posterior or breech or a complicated delivery.

Our chiropractors have been able to assist babies with concerns such as (but not limited to):

• sleeping 

• colic

• constipation

• irritability

• low muscle tone

• breastfeeding difficulties

• plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome).

Neuro-Developmental Assessments

Did you know that Neuro-Developmental Assessments can identify retained primitive reflexes, gross and fine motor difficulties, visual and auditory processing delays? The assessment is designed to be a low stress session for your child. We use standardised tests involving but not limited to:

• Balance

• Coordination

• Muscle strength

• Visual and auditory memory

These tests can help us to identify any anomalies that may affect your child’s ability to process and respond appropriately to sensory stimuli that they see, hear and feel.

Our chiropractors take you and your child through a thorough history as well as perform a comprehensive chiropractic, orthopaedic and neurological examination.

Please note Your Body Works is stroller friendly and has baby change facilities for your convenience.

We also have a dedicated waiting room for children with plenty of toys and an expansive Duplo wall where they can play prior to their appointment.
